Every Prompt From "How I'd Start Over With Claude"

TL;DR

These seven prompts take you from no job offer to a small product people can buy: research the problems your field complains about, pick one, build a simple product, copy a post format, make an image, write a sales page, and ask your first buyers what to build next. Paste them in order and fill in the [brackets].

This page holds every prompt shown in the video, in the order they appear. Copy each one, change the details to match your own work, and paste it into Claude. The example throughout is a marketing coordinator who sold a one-page weekly report template, but the steps work for any field.

Watch the video: the five steps, start to finish

One note before you start. The research prompt in step 1 runs best in Claude's desktop app, and it takes a few minutes while Claude reads. Let it run.

Find the problems people complain about

I'm a marketing coordinator who just got laid off. Go to Reddit and read what people in my field are complaining about right now. Reddit blocks browsers, so use a free archive like Arctic Shift instead. Then give me the three biggest problems ranked by how often they come up. For each one, explain what's really going on and show me a few quotes word for word. Tell me how many posts you looked at and only use what you actually read.

Pick the one problem you can help with most

I know how to put together weekly marketing reports. Which of these three problems could I help with the most and why?

Build the product

Build me a one-page weekly report template for marketers whose clients don't read reports. Here's how I do my reports. I put the one number that matters first, then what changed, then what we're doing next. Give me three sections in that order and add a sample report with made-up numbers, marked as an example. Only use what I told you and don't add details I didn't say.

Copy the format of a post that works, not the words

Here's a post that stopped me: [the post you copied]. Keep the same format, but rewrite it for my weekly report template. Only use what I told you and don't make up stories about me. End with comment REPORT to get it.

Make the image for your post

Make me a product mock-up for my template, like a studio shot of a product box. At the bottom of the image, say: Comment REPORT to get it.

Write the sales page

Write a short sales page for my report template. Say what it is, who it's for, and what they get. Keep it plain and honest.

Ask your first buyers what to build next

Write five short questions I can ask my first buyers to find out what they struggle with next.

Common questions

  • Do I need to know how to code?

No. Every prompt is plain English. Claude does the reading, building and writing, and you read what comes back and change anything that does not sound like you.

  • Why does the research prompt mention Arctic Shift?

Reddit blocks most automated browsing, so Claude gets blocked when it tries to read it directly. Arctic Shift is a public archive of Reddit posts that Claude can read instead. The prompt tells it to use that, so you do not have to set anything up.

  • How do I know the quotes Claude finds are real?

Search one of them. The prompt asks for quotes word for word and for a count of posts read, which makes them easy to check. Take a minute to confirm one is real before you build anything on it.
