The warm-outreach skill: a list of people who already trust you

Your first customer is almost never a stranger. It's a past client, an old coworker, someone from a group you're in, or the person who likes every post you make. You already know them. You just haven't written the list down.
So instead you stare at cold DMs, feel gross about it, and do nothing for another week. Meanwhile there are twenty people in your phone who'd be genuinely happy to hear what you're building.

Install the warm-outreach skill
A skill is a folder of instructions that Claude Code loads as a slash command. Three lines copy it into your skills directory and it's live.

Run it the first time
Type /warm-outreach. It asks you to brain-dump names in loose buckets: past clients, old colleagues, communities you're in, people who DM you, friends. Messy and half-remembered is fine, and it'll prompt you when you stall with questions like who are the last ten people you texted. Aim for twenty to forty names.
Then it scores each person one to three on fit and one to three on warmth, sorts the list, and writes three opener styles: a reconnect for people you've lost touch with, a soft signal for warm people who fit, and a referral ask for people who won't buy but know someone who will. Everything saves to ~/warm-outreach-list.md with the top five named for this week. Each opener has one bracket you fill in per person. That bracket is the whole difference between a message and a template.

Common questions
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Three lines in your terminal install it, then you're just listing names and answering questions in plain English.
Is it really free?
Yes. The repo is public and the skill needs no API keys, accounts, or paid tools. Claude Code Club is separate, and it's for when you want the whole path.
What if my network is tiny?
The skill steers you to the referral angle and to one community you're already in, rather than pushing you cold before you're ready. Low-fit people with high warmth become connectors, not lost causes.
Won't this feel like spamming my friends?
The openers lead with the person, not the pitch, and end on an easy question. The skill also tells you to keep the batch small: top five first, one personal detail each. A big batch sent at once is what reads as a blast.
