5 prompts to make premium motion graphic videos with Claude

3 minute readUpdated October 2026Explore more

TL;DR

One prompt gets you a generic video. These five prompts walk Claude through the process designers use: find references on prompt-motion.com, study them, write a design system, approve still images first, then fix the video one round of notes at a time. Plan on an afternoon, because each video render can take 10 to 20 minutes.

Use these in order, in the same Claude chat, and fill in the [brackets] with your own links and brand. Each prompt is one of the five tricks from the video. Before prompt 1, browse prompt-motion.com and pick two videos you love.

Find references worth stealing from

I like these two videos on prompt-motion.com: [link 1] and [link 2]. Find me 3 more from that site with the same feel that would work for [your brand's colors and mood]. For each one, save the link, who made it, the prompt word for word, the video, and a few frames. Then tell me which videos you turned down, and why.

Have Claude study them

Look at all 5 references and write notes on what makes each one work: colors, type, layouts, how text and cards move, and pacing. Then write one summary: the moves worth stealing, ranked, with my two favorites first, and what to leave out for [your brand]. Be honest where something doesn't fit.

Build a design system

Using my website, [your link], and these references, write the design system for this promo: the feeling in one line, the look, the type, four or five signature moves, the motion rules, a menu of ten or more layouts, and a banned list. Say where each rule came from. Keep my site's [colors]. Every scene fills the frame, and nothing overlaps.

Approve stills before any video

Before any video, build 6 still boards for the promo as web pages and save them as full-size images, one for each kind of scene: [your scenes, for example the title, a grid of your work, a real review, the end card]. Use only real screenshots and logos from my site, and only words from my site. Then look at every image yourself and check that nothing overlaps or runs too close to the edge.

When the stills look right, ask Claude to turn them into the video, with a scene-by-scene plan written first.

Review like a designer

Redo [scene] with these notes: [your notes, for example one big headline, no small text under it, no little pill labels or buttons]. Put each new rule in the design system file, and replace the old rule instead of adding a second one.

Common questions

  • Where do I paste these?

Into the Claude app, in one chat, in order. Claude needs to browse the web and save files for prompts 1 and 4, so use a setup where it can do that, like the Code tab in the desktop app.

  • Why not just ask for the video in one prompt?

You can, but Claude fills every gap with guesses, and the result looks like every other AI video. The references and the design system give it the taste, and the stills let you fix the look before you wait on a render.

  • Can I copy someone's prompt from prompt-motion.com as is?

Use it as a reference, not a script. A copied prompt can carry over facts that belong to the original brand, like their visitor numbers, and Claude may put them on screen as if they were yours. Always check the words in your video.
