Build Your Own AI Agency With These 10 Repos (Agent Teams, Swarms and Orchestrators)

10 minute readUpdated October 2026Explore more

TL;DR

One Claude Code chat does one thing at a time. These 10 free GitHub repos turn it into a team of AI agents. Four give you ready-made specialists to install (Agency Agents, wshobson's Agents, Awesome Claude Code Subagents and Garry Tan's gstack). Four run many agents at once and coordinate them (Orca, Ruflo, oh-my-claudecode and AWS Labs' CLI Agent Orchestrator). DeerFlow from ByteDance is a super agent that plans and spawns its own sub-agents, and Claude Council asks several AIs the same question so you can compare answers. "Agency" here means a team of AI agents working for you, not a promise of income. Each section has the GitHub link, live star count and the install steps from the repo's own README.

The 10 repos to build your own AI agency

Star counts below were pulled from GitHub on October 2, 2026, so they will be higher by the time you read this. The list covers three jobs: hire specialist agents (ready-made roles you install), run a team at once (tools that coordinate many agents in parallel) and get a second opinion (agents that check each other). You don't need all 10. Start with one roster and one way to run it.

1. Agency Agents: a full AI agency of specialist agents

msitarzewski/agency-agents

155,818 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: a roster of 230+ specialized AI agents, grouped into divisions like Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Product, Testing and Support. Each agent file has its own personality, workflows and deliverables, from frontend developers to Reddit community builders.

How to install it: the README recommends its desktop app, which installs agents into Claude Code for you. On a Mac:

bashbrew install --cask msitarzewski/agency-agents/agency-agents

Prefer the command line? Download the repo from GitHub, then run this from inside its folder:

bash./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code

Then ask for an agent by name in Claude Code:

promptActivate Frontend Developer mode and help me build a React component

2. gstack: Garry Tan's exact Claude Code setup

garrytan/gstack

134,793 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license. Made by Garry Tan, President and CEO of Y Combinator.

What it does: turns Claude Code into a virtual engineering team. The README describes twenty-three specialists and eight power tools, including a CEO who rethinks the product, a designer, a code reviewer, a QA lead who opens a real browser and a release engineer, all as slash commands like `/office-hours`, `/review` and `/qa`.

How to install it: you need Git and Bun installed. Open Claude Code and paste the README's one-line install, which Claude runs for you:

promptInstall gstack: run git clone --single-branch --depth 1 https://github.com/garrytan/gstack.git ~/.claude/skills/gstack && cd ~/.claude/skills/gstack && ./setup

The full README prompt also adds a gstack section to your CLAUDE.md, so copy it from the repo if you want that. Then start with:

prompt/office-hours

3. Orca: run a fleet of coding agents in parallel

stablyai/orca

83,872 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: a desktop app that runs Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or Pi side by side, each in its own git worktree, all tracked in one place. You can fan one prompt across five agents, compare the results and merge the winner. A phone app lets you check on your agents and send follow-ups.

How to install it (Mac): download it from onorca.dev, or use Homebrew:

bashbrew install --cask stablyai/orca/orca

4. DeerFlow: a super agent that plans and spawns its own helpers

bytedance/deer-flow

83,335 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license. Made by ByteDance.

What it does: an open-source super agent harness. Give it a big multi-step task and its lead agent plans the work, spawns sub-agents, and uses memory, a sandbox and skills to research, code and create. It runs as its own app in your browser.

Easiest way to install it: hand this exact sentence from the README to Claude Code:

promptHelp me clone DeerFlow if needed, then bootstrap it for local development by following https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bytedance/deer-flow/main/Install.md

Or do it by hand:

bashgit clone https://github.com/bytedance/deer-flow.git
cd deer-flow
make setup

The setup wizard asks which AI model provider to use and writes your keys to a .env file. With Docker, start it with `make docker-init` and then `make docker-start`, and open http://localhost:2026.

5. Ruflo: turn one Claude Code session into a coordinated swarm

ruvnet/ruflo

73,733 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: an agent harness for Claude Code and Codex. It adds specialized agents that organize into swarms and split the work, plus memory across sessions. The README says the full CLI install gives you 98 agents, 60+ commands and 30 skills.

Lite install (slash commands only, no files added to your project): inside Claude Code, type:

prompt/plugin marketplace add ruvnet/ruflo
/plugin install ruflo-core@ruflo
/plugin install ruflo-swarm@ruflo

Full install: run the setup wizard in your project folder:

bashnpx ruflo@latest init wizard

6. Agents by wshobson: experts for almost any task

wshobson/agents

40,165 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: a huge Claude Code plugin marketplace with 94 plugins, 202 agents, 184 skills and 105 commands. Each plugin is small and focused, and installing one only loads that plugin's pieces, not the whole marketplace.

How to install it: inside Claude Code, type:

prompt/plugin marketplace add wshobson/agents
/plugin install python-development

Swap `python-development` for any plugin in the catalog at docs/plugins.md in the repo.

7. oh-my-claudecode: a coordinated team inside your terminal

Yeachan-Heo/oh-my-claudecode

39,539 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: multi-agent orchestration for Claude Code. Its Team mode runs a staged pipeline (plan, write requirements, build, verify, fix) across several agents, and `/autopilot` takes a goal and runs with it.

How to install it: inside Claude Code, enter these one at a time (pasting both lines at once fails, per the README):

prompt/plugin marketplace add https://github.com/Yeachan-Heo/oh-my-claudecode
prompt/plugin install oh-my-claudecode

Then run setup and give it a job:

prompt/omc-setup
/autopilot "build a REST API for managing tasks"

8. Awesome Claude Code Subagents: copy in a specialist

VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents

25,463 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license.

What it does: a big collection of ready-made Claude Code subagents in 10 categories, from core development and language specialists to business, product and research. Copy one in instead of writing a specialist from scratch.

How to install it: add the marketplace, then install a category:

bashclaude plugin marketplace add VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents
claude plugin install voltagent-lang

Or use the interactive installer to browse and pick single agents, no clone needed:

bashcurl -sO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents/main/install-agents.sh
chmod +x install-agents.sh
./install-agents.sh

9. CLI Agent Orchestrator: Claude Code, Codex and others on one job

awslabs/cli-agent-orchestrator

1,370 stars on October 2, 2026. Apache 2.0 license. From AWS Labs.

What it does: a supervisor agent hands work to specialist agents in parallel or in sequence. Each worker is a full coding CLI (Claude Code, Codex, Kiro and more) with its own login. You can watch them in a web UI.

How to install it: you need Python 3.10+, tmux 3.3+, uv and at least one logged-in coding CLI. Then:

bashuv tool install git+https://github.com/awslabs/cli-agent-orchestrator.git@main --upgrade
cao --help

First launch, per the README: install the supervisor, start the server in one terminal, launch from your project in another.

bashcao install code_supervisor
cao-server
# in a second terminal, inside your project:
cao launch --agents code_supervisor

10. Claude Council: ask several AIs before you commit

hex/claude-council

817 stars on October 2, 2026. MIT license. The smallest repo on this list.

What it does: a Claude Code plugin that asks several AI agents the same question in parallel and shows their answers side by side, plus a summary of where they agree and disagree. Useful for big calls like architecture choices or debugging dead ends.

How to install it: inside Claude Code, type:

prompt/plugin marketplace add hex/claude-marketplace
/plugin install claude-council

Then ask a question:

prompt/claude-council:ask "Should I use UUID or BIGINT primary keys for a SaaS users table?"

Quick start

  1. 1Pick one roster: Agency Agents for business roles, or wshobson's Agents for technical ones. Install only the agents you need.
  2. 2Try gstack and run /office-hours on something you are building.
  3. 3When one agent is not enough, add oh-my-claudecode or Orca and start with two agents, not ten. Watch your usage limits.
  4. 4Before a big decision, ask Claude Council for a second opinion.

Common questions

  • Are these 10 repos free?

Yes. All 10 are free and open source. The agents still run on your AI accounts: a Claude plan or API usage for Claude Code, and DeerFlow and Claude Council can call other providers using your own keys or CLI logins.

  • Will an AI agency make me money?

Not by itself. "Agency" here means a team of AI agents that do work for you, like coding, research and reviews. What you build or sell with them is up to you.

  • Which one should I install first?

gstack or Agency Agents. Both install in a few minutes and give you ready-made roles to try right away. Add a parallel runner like Orca or oh-my-claudecode later, once you know which roles you use.

  • Does running many agents at once use up my Claude Code limits faster?

Yes. Every agent working at the same time uses its own share of your usage. Start with two agents, check the results, and only scale up when the extra speed is worth it.
