What Generate does: an AI image studio inside Claude

Generate is a free Claude skill made by Blotato. You ask Claude for an image or a short video in plain words. Claude writes the prompt, picks the cheapest model that can do the job, shows you the price, and makes it. You pay kie.ai per image instead of a monthly plan.

What Generate does for you: images with Nano Banana 2 (or GPT Image 2 when the picture needs readable text), short vertical videos with Seedance, a spend cap Claude won't cross, saved styles called presets, and one folder where every file sits next to its exact prompt.

Add your kie.ai key

Generate sends every image to kie.ai, a pay-as-you-go site that runs the image and video models. Make an account on kie.ai, copy your API key (a private password that lets Claude spend your credits), then tell Claude:

Start with $5 of credits. An image costs from $0.04, and kie.ai credits never expire, so nothing is lost in a slow month.

Best practices for Generate:

  • Set your own spend cap first. The defaults are $10 a session and $50 a month. Ask Claude to change them in the skill before your first run.
  • Save your look as a preset once. Edit presets/brand-style.md with your colors and mood, and every image in a series matches.
  • Draft cheap, then pay for video. Generate makes a still first and only animates the one you approve.
  • Say when the picture needs words on it. Claude then uses GPT Image 2, which spells text right.
  • Keep the prompts. Every file has a JSON file next to it with the full prompt, so a winner is easy to make again.

Prompts to try with Generate:

prompt/generate Make 3 product photos of [your product] on a clean kitchen counter in soft morning light. Use the cheapest model and keep the total under $1.
promptMake a new preset called my-brand from presets/brand-style.md. Colors: [your colors]. Mood: [your mood]. Then /generate using the my-brand preset: [what you want in the image].
prompt/generate using the before-after preset: [the problem your customer has] on the left, [the result you give them] on the right. Show me the still and the price before you animate it.

Which Generate setup to start with

  • Only want images: install, add the kie.ai key, and ask for a still. Stills come out 1080x1920, sized for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
  • Posting a series: build one preset for your look first, then use it on every request.
  • Want video too: approve a still, then let Generate animate it with Seedance 1.0 Pro, about $0.75 for a finished 10 second clip.

  • Is the Generate skill free?

    Yes. The skill is free in Blotato's GitHub repo. You only pay kie.ai for what you make, from $0.04 an image.

  • Do I need a Higgsfield subscription?

    No. Generate uses kie.ai, which is pay as you go. kie.ai credits never expire, while Higgsfield's unused monthly credits expire at the end of each month.
