Claude Code gets a lot better once you add the right plugins. Common questions
Are these Claude Code plugins free?
Yes. All five plugins are free and open source: the three Anthropic plugins are Apache 2.0, Claude HUD and Superpowers are MIT. Claude Code itself still needs a paid Claude plan.
How do I install a Claude Code plugin?
Type the /plugin install command inside Claude Code. Official plugins use the claude-plugins-official marketplace, and Claude HUD needs its marketplace added first. The exact commands for each plugin are above, copied from the READMEs.
Does Security Guidance use more of my plan?
Yes. Its diff review makes an extra model call when Claude finishes a turn (Opus 4.7 by default). Its README explains how to switch to a cheaper model if you want.
Is Superpowers made by Anthropic?
No. Superpowers is a community project by obra (Jesse Vincent) with almost 300,000 GitHub stars. It is listed in the official Claude plugin marketplace, so it installs the same way.
